Established in 1991, the Amgen Foundation plays a key role in Amgen’s commitment to improving the lives of others. As Amgen’s principal channel for corporate philanthropy, we work with expert partners to provide best-in-class science education programs free of cost to teachers and students. In 2021, our programs reached 27 million people worldwide.
We believe that everyone, everywhere can participate in science, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, gender, geography, sexual orientation or disability. Our 30+ year investment in science education is consistent with the social pillar of Amgen’s Environmental, Social and Governance strategy.
We cannot achieve our goals on our own. We work with expert partners to offer four world-class science education programs for teachers and students, expanding access to high-quality learning experiences and advancing equity in STEM around the world.
We also collaborate with trusted partners to build stronger communities where Amgen staff live and work. Internationally, we work with global organizations to respond to natural disasters around the world. Our staff volunteering program further amplifies the reach and impact of our science education programs.
A free, online platform enabling flexible science learning and teaching through interactives, lab simulations and more.
Helps teachers transform their classrooms into biotechnology labs through professional development courses, teaching materials and research grade lab equipment.
Enables undergraduate students to experience life as scientists with top academic researchers at premier institutions around the world.
Our funding brings free, online biology lessons into the homes and classrooms of millions of learners each year.
